Helsinki Photo Festival is a visual art event dedicated to the art of photography, bringing the form of photo art closer to the public. Since 2018, the festival has brought together photography enthusiasts from different backgrounds and age groups. The festival has built an exceptional program consisting of exhibitions, pop-up events and pedagogical events. The goal of the Helsinki Photo Festival is to introduce, educate and inspire the public to the art of photography.
Every year Helsinki Photo Festival selects 50 winners through an open call from various genres around the world. The competition is judged by leading international photography and education experts. In 2023, the festival received 462 applications with a total of 6,555 images from 67 different countries. The works of the 50 international open call winners chosen from them will be presented for 12 weeks in the Helsinki area.
