An afterword is a literary device found at the end of a book that shares an alternative perspective related to the original material. It often provides commentary on historical or cultural context.
AFTERWORD features work curated from Light Conversation: Vol. 3, our pop-up projection and community event series. Pulling from nearly 70 submissions, we let our instincts guide the process, connecting otherwise disparate photographers across states and countries. Each artist’s work represents its own narrative, but together a new and unexpected conversation begins. While the work presented is not an expected pairing, without one body the whole would feel incomplete.
For more than seven years, Small Talk has worked together to build a community and collaborative process that is now intrinsic to our own art making. We are so thrilled to be able to invite these artists and the larger photographic community into this process.
